Reading “THE TAPE 2008-2011 RIP DUDE” on Makeout Videotape's Bandcamp would have led to a combo byte post of Say Hello with a late notice addendum and the memoriam of Say Goodbye had Captured Tracks not shown good will towards Montreal men. Rather than sign the Mac-man strictly, the Brooklyn label recognized that Makeout Videotape was a two-man operation of balanced parts and signed former drummer Alex Calder.

His duties behind the sticks hardly translate to “Suki and Me”. Calder's tasty licks clang around the warm center of slightly-pysch 70's production on the lead single. It's not as sleazy as the Rock And Roll Night Club, but the word nasty still comes to mind particularly when Calder strips the track bare, leaving the bass and snare. This moment arrives at the end of “Suki and Me”, which begs a repeat listen as you discover the source of pleasing vibrations. It was there all along; in the bass and the movement.
