Angus MacLise rises

Thank Friendship Bracelet for bringing our attention to the new attention being given to founding (if temporary) Velvet Underground member Angus MacLise (1938-1979), and his work in percussive drone, as exemplified in a series of recordings he did with Tony Conrad and Jack Smith in the late 60s. In collaboration with an exhibit that will run at their gallery starting this Tuesday, May 10, and screenings at Anthology, Boo-Hooray will release a completist's package of recordings, prints, poetry, and photography that attempt an encapsulation of the man's life and work.
