The eastern-inflected musings of San Francisco's Barn Owl look toward the setting sun in this excerpt of "Into the Red Horizon" off their recent LP The Conjurer (Root Strata), conjuring smoke and slow spirits that ride the wind along the tropic of cancer to the tune of midnight ragas and deep drone while staying tethered to the Pacific west coast with the likes of Eternal Tapestry, and not a little bit of Neil Young riffing in a quiet room.
