Another doom metal morning: Zoroaster

Post Author:

Atlanta's Zoroaster is in on the psych rock revival but they're coming at it with a slow-swinging sledgehammer, gurgling through their sludgy doom metal with unabashed Sabbath-inspired blues riffs, and on “Terminally Charged”, a jammy keyboard line. We're also into the fact that they're coming out of a city that's schizophrenically drowning us in a sense of revivalism while occasionally forcing us up for gasps of weird new air (Deerhunter and Mastadon, we're talking about you).

Zoroaster's album, Dog Magic (Battle Kommand), hits stores today.
