The 2017 BRIT Awards honoring the year’s stand-out pop music performances went down in London last night [February 22nd, 2017]. Among the long list of recipients honored — which included the likes of David Bowie, Beyonce, Drake and Adele — we were graced with a SURPRISE performance by none other than The Chainsmokers.
But wait — there’s more. Not only did the grammy-winning artist and producer duo manage to pull off this star-studded surprise at the UK’s biggest Pop Music awards show of the entire year, but they did so along with longtime legends of the British Rock/Pop genre, Coldplay.
The end result of the collaboration? The single, “Something Just Like This.”
While The Chainsmokers have been known to give the EDM treatment to Coldplay songs like “Yellow” in the past, this official collaboration with one of the industry’s most celebrated artists gives the up-and-comers a definitely stamp of approval.
Apparently, the single’s unofficial unveiling was a teaser for the The Chainsmokers’ upcoming album, “Memories: Do Not Open.” Let’s just say they’ve definitely got our attention.
