Dinner’s Week in Pop

The dynamic pop world of Dinner; photographed by Elise Mesner.

Dinner just released New Work via the venerable imprint of international prestige Captured Tracks & generously presents the following exclusive Week in Pop guest selections:

Recipe, “Upriver”

LA’s finest Deep Cuts Connoisseur Josh Da Costa turned me on to this track. I think he found it in a used records bin in Belgium or something like that; and then put it on YouTube.. It’s world-class. Universe-class.

Star Trek: The Next Generation bridge background ambiance

Speaking of the universe. Here’s the perfect ambiance for sleep—and sex, of course. What could be hotter than this? I’ve been using it all week:

Marquis De Sade, “Glor På Vinduer” Live at Roskilde Festival 1985

I’ve been reacquainting myself with Danish 80s this week too. Growing up, I hated this stuff. But now, I can’t get enough of it.

Dodo & The Dodos, “Sømand Af Verden”

And of course, this epic track and performance:

Girl Seeker

It made me think of these guys. Girl Seeker. They are contemporary – or were, at least, a few years ago. I don’t think the band exists anymore which is a shame.
