STRFKR, “In The End”

We love this video and LOVE this band. STRFKR honors John Waters and Divine in this law breaking drag queen heist film. And, it was actually shot on 35mm film…who else is doing that today?!

Cindy Wilson, “Corporeal”

Cindy created this amazing “visual experience” that plays behind her when she performs Broadcast’s “Corporeal” live. A beautiful song and video.

Martha And The Vandellas, “Nowhere To Run”

Martha And The Vandellas were the ultimate Motown divas! They had a harder R&B sound in contrast to The Supremes and The Marvelettes. Here’s a great live television performance of “Nowhere To Run”.

Serge Gainsbourg featuring Jane Birkin, “Je t’aime…moi non plus”

Serge Gainsbourg, Jane Birkin, the Eiffel Tower and…orgasms!

Cristina, “Drive My Car”

Video of Cristina is rare but we dug up this little gem. “Drive My Car” is a great example of the Mutant Disco or No Wave sound ZE Records was releasing out of New York City in the early 1980s.

DEVO, “Secret Agent Man” (1974)

Here’s the original 1974 version of “Secret Agent Man” from DEVO’s independent short film, In The Beginning Was The End: The Truth About De-Evolution. It’s very different from the 1979 version found on Duty Now For The Future. The synthesizer in the intro is heavy industrial meets Robert Moog. Check out DEVO’s EZ Listening Muzak album. It’s DEVO’s songs done in MUZAK…genius!

Jack, “Poop In My Butt”

They say punk is dead?! Punk isn’t dead…it’s in Jack’s butt!

Divine, “You Think You’re A Man” (Live at Flashlights, 1984)

The first drag superstar! Divine did it all…film, television, music. There will never be another. This is a very high quality video of Divine’s live performance of “You Think You’re A Man” on German television. Fun fact: Noah and Dan work with Divine’s family!

Deee-Lite, “Runaway”

Lady Miss Kier, Supa DJ Dmitry and Jungle DJ Towa Towa (Towa Tei) were Deee-Lite! The group was best known for their global smash hit, “Groove Is In The Heart”. “Runaway” is a fantastic track and a fun music video. Before Deee-Lite, DJ Dmitry was in the New York City band Shazork with Lady Bunny and Sister Dimension. They were wild!

Shazork, “At The Discoteque” (live at the Zulu Lounge in the 1980s)

Lady Bunny fronted the electro-dance group Shazork with Sister Dimension (Pyramid Club) and DJ Dmitry (Deee-Lite). Here’s a rare live performance at the Zulu Lounge in Manhattan.
