Hello.

A CoverGirl and a Wetdog walk into a bar

By Derek Evers » I forget the punchline. Something about chemicals and burning Paris.

Covergirl

Was e-mailing back and forth with Billy Easter from the amazing London band Wetdog about their 2012 plans. No, not the apocalyptical type, but record and touring plans for the coming year. Especially since drummer Sarah now lives Stateside. Not to worry, a new album and coinciding tour are currently in the works for sometime in Spring, but all of the downtime has given Billy the chance to spread her wings.

Enter CoverGirl, a new project of Easter's that also features members of Peepholes, Bloody Knees and Trash Kit. It's like a post-post-punk supergroup (or would that be post-post-post?). Their first single, "Paris Burns", will be available on Captured Tracks September 6, and while we're not sure of the b-side, we're digging the vibe of "Chemicals". You can hear Billy's influence all over this one, with the walking bass line and poppy "ooh's," it's a nice compliment to her work in Wetdog.

Here's both tracks for you to peruse.
