Crate Digger: RZA Samples Vol.1

By Nick Graham » Ivan over at HipHopIsRead has posted a great sample set based on RZA's early-to-mid nineties production. This sample set, if you are unfamiliar with the term, is a collection of the original soul songs RZA sampled to make such WU classics as "C.R.E.A.M" and "Liquid Swords". Ivan also had a great idea for a game that I think we can play on this site. Below is the tracklist of all the original songs, without the names of the Wu songs the samples were used in. Can you, without looking at HHIR, tell which Wu songs are from which soul song? Let's see how much of a Wu Aficionado you are.

Also, check out HipHopIsRead for more sample sets for groups like Gangstarr, UGK, and others.

The Charmels, "As Long As I've Got You"

Syl Johnson, "Could I Be Falling In Love"
