Vancouver's Crystal Swells is four dudes making a classic melancholy post-punk kind of friction. This track "Patent Trolls" is like Swervdriver trapped in Robert Pollard's closet without getting all emo and overboard about the creepiness of the situation. But if you listen through the rest of their tracks, a mellow take on the whole garage revivalism materializes. Like San Francisco but 800 miles northerly.
