Eyedea & Abilities return from five year hiatus

Eyedea's “This Story” appears just when you thought he'd never return from indie rock.

Eyedea has had a bizarre career path full of twists and betrayals. A prodigy freestyler, he became Blaze Battle Champion, then released a debut with Abilities full of existential songs. He created an alternate ego in Oliver Hart to rap more like Slug, then rejoined Abilities for a less abstract marriage of his opposing styles, only to escape once again, becoming indie rock front man of Carbon Carousel.

Luckily, DJ Abilities has been there to keep him grounded in hip hop. The duo's third album By The Throat will hopefully go for our jugulars. It's out July 21 on Rhymesayers Entertainment.

Catch the duo on the Rock The Bells tour this summer.
