Gäy, “Blue Blue Heart”

Post Author:
Gäy

Gäy is a Danish four-piece that's linked up with the internationally curious minds at Zoo Music. Young and bored in Grenå, Gäy's “Blue Blue Heart” is simple and kitschy, meaning in 40 years Wes Anderson will be ready to write it into a movie about perpetual adolescence.

The programmed drums strip the band down to three members on record, but it adds to the low brow take on a doo-wop beat. Still young, still developing an identity, Gäy write'em for their teenage peers who are still prone to exaggerated hormones—few things bluer than a blue, blue heart. But it's tough to take Gäy at their word after reading a Vice interview that proves not all the Danish youths are intent on being stoic nihilists. Some have the same humor as American teenagers, unphased and unapologetic in making a few gay jokes.

Gäy's “Paradox Personafied” b/w “Blue Blue Heart” 7″ is out now on Zoo Music.
