In light of the tragic and heartbreaking death by beautiful songwriter Jason Molina, Graveface Records is releasing a compilation of covers performed by some of Molina's closest friends and dedicated admirers, and given the worldclass talent that Molina possessed, his admirers were many. The comp, which is to be named Weary Engine Blues after the Molina artwork that graces the cover, will feature covers by John Vanderslice, Mark Kozelek, Hospital Ships, Lucas Oswald, Jonathan Meiburg, Damien Jurado, Dreamend, Brown Bird, Haunt the House, TW Walsh, Phil Elverum, Alisdair Roberts, Scout Niblett, Jeffrey Lewis, Will Johnson, The Wave Pictures, Allo Darlin, Darren Hayman, Will Oldham, Herman Dune, among apparently many others. Accompanying the CD will be an original screenprint by William Schaff, a gorgeous map that had been drawn before Molina's death. Though the map was intended to guide and help Molina during his struggle with alcoholism, it sadly never made it to him while he was alive.

Schaff says about the screenprint that it will exist “not as it was originally intended, a map for one man, but as tool to commemorate this man, and continue to help his family, especially in such dark times as these.”

100% of the proceeds from the map and CD package will go to Molina's family. You can preorder yours at Graveface here and listen to Mark Kozelek's cover of “It's Easier Now” below.
