Greg Fox, Patrick Higgins join Zs

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Maybe our new slogan should be “Impose Magazine: Your Number One Greg Fox News Source”. What do you guys think? We might as well cover our bases.

Just kidding Greg! We love you! And even more to the point, you are a peripheral figure in this news story, which is about New York City legends Zs celebrating having been a band for ten whole years! (That means Zs is the same age as Impose! That's cute.) Sam Hillmer, the sax-man and founding member of the project, has done so much under the moniker in the past decade that it's impossible to tie it all up – from working with legends like Genesis P. Orridge and literally hundreds of other performers over the years to being on the Howard Stern Show, these guys have done it all!

To celebrate, Northern Spy is releasing a four disc box-set of out of print material from the first five years, as well as a bunch of unreleased stuff, called Score – The Complete Sextet Works from 2002-2007. The artwork is by Fredericks & Mae, and it'll officially be out September 11. Here's a sampler of the extensive works featured on this set.

And, like we mentioned above, Greg Fox and composer Patrick Higgins are joining the band and will debut at the record release show, taking place at 285 Kent on August 29. All the other bands playing feature musicians who have worked with Zs in some capacity at one point or another (with the possible exception of Mick Barr, who might just be a buddy), including Wet Ink Ensemble, Extra Life, Hubble, and Diamond Terrifier, which is Hillmer's solo project. Congratulations on this terrific achievement!
