Gross Ghost

Gross Ghost from Raleigh, North Carolina:

YOU KNOW THAT PERSON AT THE PARTY WHO IS STILL UP AT DAWN, THRASHING BY THEMSELVES AMIDST THE WRECKAGE OF THE NIGHT BEFORE? YEAH, THAT'S A GROSS GHOST.

The band's been on our radar since they popped up on a Pogo in Togo show in March. They're grounded in rock by their drums and the unmistakable sound of atonal, screeching guitars, and while they'll veer over the edge into no-wave noise squalls, they come off a bit too structured in the end for pure Dionysian chaos: think an offspring of Public Image Ltd. and DNA who inherited more of John Lyndon's aggro traits than anything else.
