Any day now, The Black Lips are going to be crowned as the second-coming of The Monkees, and then who will make the kids happy?
I'm gonna come out and nominate The Strange Boys from Austin, as they seem to be drawing from the same wells of inspiration as Atlanta's future movie stars do with their Kinks/Back From The Grave loner-garage stuff on the label that has brought us releases from Jay Reatard to Vivian Girls, and of course The Black Lips themselves, In The Red Records.
