Martin Eden, “Versions”

Post Author:

Martin Eden's first single “Versions”, off his Dedicate Function LP, is an epic piece of swirling electronics, and countless loops. The electronic piano loop sounds almost like something out of a trance track, but the soft, speaker shifting saw lead reminds you that “Versions” isn't your average electronic song.

Martin Eden is Matthew Cooper, who since 2003 has made music under the name Eluvium. The name change is due to a change in sound, which is evident if you compare Eluvium's catalog to Cooper's new work as Martin Edin. With “Versions”, Cooper slyly dances back and forth over the line between ambiance, and dance, and the result is a dark, and beautiful collection of sound.

Martin Eden's Dedicate Function is out October 9 on Lefse Records.
