More Moogfest acts added

With just over three weeks till it's in full swing, the annual festival that is Moogfest, which celebrates the vision of sonic pioneer Bob Moog, is continuing to expand and develop. Held the weekend of October 28-30 in Asheville, North Carolina, the festival has recently announced that composer and performer Terry Riley will be joining the Moogfest line up this year. Although he has chosen to perform mostly acoustic in recent years, Riley will present a rare concert of his legendary electronic keyboard music, including cuts from his seminal A Rainbow In Curved Air album.

Meanwhile, Warp Records has announced the exclusive pre-release of Brian Eno's new EP, Panic Of Looking, at Harvest Records in Asheville during the Moogfest weekend, giving festival attendees the opportunity to pick up the new release before anyone else in the world. Eno will be attending Moogfest 2011 for the opening of his video installation, 77 Million Paintings. He will also be presenting an “Illustrated Talk” on Saturday afternoon during the festival.

Eno and Riley are part of an incredible lineup that currently features Dan Deacon, The Flaming Lips, Moby, Passion Pit, STS9, Tangerine Dream, TV on the Radio, Special Disco Version featuring James Murphy and Pat Mahoney (DFA/LCD Soundsystem), Umphrey’s McGee, Chromeo, Crystal Castles, Amon Tobin: ISAM Live, Flying Lotus, Suicide, Ghostland Observatory, Childish Gambino, M83, Neon Indian, St. Vincent, Beak>, Matthew Dear, Tim Hecker, The Field, Anika, Toro Y Moi, Zomby, John Maus, CANT, and Oneohtrix Point Never among other acts with more announcements forthcoming.

Single day tickets are now on sale, and weekend passes are still available at www.moogfest.com. Brian Eno’s 77 Million Paintings and Illustrated Talk are separately ticketed events, specially priced for Moogfest attendees.
