Armand Hammer, “Shark Fin Soup”

Furthering the fertile nature of the New York City rap underground, Billy Woods and Elucid have pooled resources and teamed up as Armand Hammer. A full-length project titled Race Music will drop on October 22 via the Backwoodz stable, and before that they've blessed the world with the first single “Shark Fin Soup.” Over a delightfully musty beat conjured up by Messiah Musik, the two MCs air out their subterranean flows and throw in a bonus China Town reference to “Mott Street noodles out my mouth when I talk.”

For more Armand Hammer appetizing kicks, hark back to the vault and pick up the freebie Half Measures mixtape the duo dropped previously. It's packed with production from Steel Tipped Dove, Uncommon Nasa and Blockhead and exudes a thoroughly endearing gritty appeal.
