Bass Drum of Death detail new album and release title track "Just Business"

It’s been nearly 4 years since we last heard from John Barett and Bass Drum of Death. Today, the band has finally released details for their new record, Just Business, due out July 27th via RED MUSIC. The throttling garage-rock title track – “Just Business” – is streaming below.

Since we last heard from the outfit, Barett traded in his down south roots for the hustle and bustle of New York City. As he shared in a recent statement, “There’s a certain kind of trouble that you’re able to get into in New York that you’re not able to get in anywhere else.” And boy, do we sense trouble…in the best way possible! If “Just Business” is any inclination of what’s to come, we can’t wait to hear what’s next.
The feedback soaked signature fuzz we’ve all come to know and love from Bass Drum of Death reigns strong on the latest track, but it’s clear Barrett’s knack for songwriting has evolved since the last release, Rip This. There’s something cleaner and more grown up about the song. Maybe it’s the sophistication of New York, maybe Barrett is just more in-tune with who he is as an artist. Either way, we dig it.
Just Business pre-order is happening now and fans will receive instant downloads of “Heavy” and “Just Business” with every digital purchase. The record will also be pressed to vinyl for all the crate-diggers out there!
