Born Gold may be an indiepop outfit, but with his latest track “Abdomen”, we see no reason why this exuberant, over-the-top, and masterfully produced track couldn't be heard on your major-label streaming pop music radio station. “Abdomen” is built from the basis of other electronic indiepop outlets (Four Tet and Grimes come to mind) but is so smart in its use of chorus build-up that it feels like a hefty titan among pop giants like Katy Perry and Madonna. Born Gold may be just that, and we are in no way complaining.
“Abdomen” comes from Born Gold's record I Am An Exit out on October 8 through Art Control/Hovercraft/Chill Mega Chill Records. Born Gold (aka Cecil Frena) will be going on a big house tour this summer/fall, and you can catch the electropop goodnes at the dates listed below.
