CANKUN, “Agave Sticks”

French exploratory electronic outfit, CANKUN, makes music suitable for a raging jungle party on a distant planet. To gear up for the release of his new LP Culture of Pink, Vincent Caylet, the musical mastermind that is CANKUN, is debuting his second single from the album.

“Agave Sticks” is a humid track that sounds like it could have been recorded in a damp cavern or a dusky crypt. The instrumentals sweep and entwine around each other and the percussion is deliciously plump. The second half of the track falls into a spacey trance with samples that are both crunchy and metallic, creating a musical environment that is both tropical and robotic. Keep your eyes peeled for Culture of Pink, set for release on March 5 through Hands in the Dark Records.
