The Marshmallow Ghosts, “Trick”

If you are DJing a Halloween party this weekend, “Trick”, by the Marshmallow Ghosts, is worth snatching. The song is tailor made for the holiday. Here's exactly what you should do: start playing “Trick”, and during the bone-crunching intro, play your 5 second sample of “Werewolf Bar Mitzvah! Spooky! Scary!” ripped from 30 Rock. Then, let “Trick” do it's thing. Wailing vocals scream, “I want to be you/every single day”. Gross! It's got a nice half-time that's perfect for a slow-mo creepy vampire walk. Also, it's six minutes long, so you can have a smoke. Then, come back in, put on the Specials' “Ghost Town”, and watch the pina ghouladas stack up on your DJ table.

Marshmallow Ghosts are releasing this song as part of a CD/DVD horror film they made called Corpse Reviver No. 2. The band, who are comprised of members of Black Moth Super Rainbow, Casket Girls, and Lady Lazarus, have done two Halloween releases before, both 7-inches, but this crazy movie thing really takes the cake.
