Squadda B & Yalls

Dream Collabo is a Bay Area-based creative project involving the pledging of cash to see two artists collaborate. Think you have a great idea for a collab track, but don't have the facilities to make it a reality? Take the proposal to Dream Collabo and if approved, it will be up to you to share the idea with friends and the internet at large to raise the funds.

The first collaboration in this experimental new platform is a two-track cycle with Squadda B of Main Attrakionz and Yalls. On “Armageddon” Yalls' Dan Casey flips a Bizzy Bone vocal—”must be close to the Armageddon”—over strained keys, while Squadda encourages his followers to hold on an feel it in their bone gristle until the rapturous ending. Initially Squadda sounds as though he's rapping half-awake from a weed nap, but as “Armageddon” progresses it's clear he's sharp of mind, soul, and body—still with his eyes on the next come up.

“MANlife” is enlivened by Casey's keys, which flutter in a call and response with his guitar. It offsets the simplicity of “Armageddon”, but each track employs similar techniques binding them to the sesssion as a cohesive piece. On “MANlife” Ad Rock is the vocal sample, requesting to drop a verse, which prompts Squadda's explanation of how to live by the code of “MANlife”.

The next collaboration currently in the pledge stages is between Blue Sky Black Death and Tree. Click here to donate to the cause.
