Secretly Canadian presents us with Dungeonesse, a new pop force consisting of two of Baltimore’s more prolific songsmiths — Jenn Wasner and Jon Ehrens. The label announced the debut single from the duo, detailed exuberantly in this video directed by Matthew Yake that was filmed at Nudashank.

Yes, this is what happens when you combine the R&B-obsessed shredder/voice of Wye Oak and Flock of Dimes with the AM radio songwriting wunderkind of projects like White Life, The Art Department, and Repelican. Wasner eludes to “reclaiming pop music,” while Ehrens reminds us that even if they tried to make a radio-friendly hit, it would “come out sounding a little different.”
