In his bio, it says that “one main ingredient in all of Ford’s songs pure soul,” and we would have to agree. California native Elijah Ford has found a new home in Austin, Texas. He released his first solo record in 2011, and has spent the last two years with his band, The Bloom, touring the U.S. and America. For has just released his first track off of his upcoming album, As You Were, and it’s great.

The track is called “Try As You Might.” It starts right off the bat with some guitar. The song is upbeat and driven by the steady, strong beat of the drums. This track is one of those songs that will make you want to listen to it over and over, with an infectious melody that will get stuck in your head. It has an All-American pop/rock song feel, and vocals that compliment the instrumentals perfectly. This track is for sure one to check out.

As You Were will be out on August 16th via Nine Mile Records. It is available for preorder now.
