Former Faces, “Weekend Mountain Man”

Meredith Schneider

Los Angeles based genre-bending collective Former Faces – comprised of brainchild Ryan Parmenter along with David Lee, Brian Blake, and Abraham Kim – is back with another unique and beautiful track in “Weekend Mountain Man”, and we’ve got your first listen. The song itself follows in the psychedelic-driven sound Parmenter has created, which has an ambiance all its own. ¬†Simple, light instrumentals explode in a melodious cacophony of sound once the vocals set in, reverb blending everything together and making it feel as though you’re floating – perhaps in a hammock – somewhere far away.

“‘Weekend Mountain Man’ is an anthem for anyone longing to escape, however briefly,” explains Parmenter. “The only thing better than living in Los Angeles is taking a break from Los Angeles. The song is a reminder of the power of a single deep breath in the woods and that stepping back can offer a clearer picture of how far you’ve come.”

Escape with Former Faces repeatedly here.
