Hair Police

Hair Police was one of the first bands that got me into noise music. The first time I heard them, something clicked with me, sort of like the first time I heard Reversal Of Man, early Black Dice, or Eyehategod. It just satisfied some weird craving in my mind-gut. It was repulsive and hypnotic, chaotic and drool-inducing, what a mind fucker. I had Constantly Terrified on loop for a while (along with Burmese's Men around the same time — I was pretty mentally vacant and bummed all the time).

Hair Police have released a bajillion weird things across numerous labels, the likes of Troubleman Unlimited, Hospital, Gods Of Tundra (Hair Police dude-Mike Connelly's label), et al. Now, there's Connelly's Wolf Eyes connection, and a ton of equally fucking radical related projects like Failing Lights and Three Legged Race.

“My Skull Is My Face” is probably one of the first Hair Police jams I gripped with a sweaty, slightly terrified palm. It sounds like the demonic offspring of a serious weirdo Wolf Eyes' and Double Leopards' lit-candle and stinky incense in the damp, hazy basement-vibe fuck-sesh. Psycho-delic, ferocious shit that turns your brain into a cave or a swamp ready for something large and fuck-off ferocious to crawl into and hibernate. Pure mental rot, served up the way you love it.
