Our friends over at Goner Records have been busy getting ready for another installment of Goner Fest, the annual garage punk summer carnage that takes place each year in their hometown of Memphis, TN. But before they drop that little tidbit of knowledge on us, they come forth with a new split 7-inch from John Wesley Coleman III and Timmy's Organism.
This track, “A Clown Gave You a Baby” is Coleman's a-side, and it definitely softens the edges of the usual Goner tones. The press release says the Buzzcocks pretending to be a drunk Bruce Springsteen; I'd suggest a Jay Reatard-fronted The Band. Either way, you're in for some Southern fried, vice-laden goodness.
We've been told the record is still in production, but will be available “pretty soon.” Luckily, Wes will be hitting the Brooklyn shores with Rayon Beach for three shows in as many nights. Check out the artwork above, dates and “A Clown Gave You a Baby” stream below.
