As we rapidly close in on Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy release date, the track list is set in stone, Kanyeezy continues to drop G.O.O.D. Friday songs – can this never stop, ever?

I've been toying with the thought that Kanye West might be our generation's Bowie, a vampire sucking on the brilliance of his peers in order to further his lifespan. It's an easy call to make, considering the development of G.O.O.D. Music. Kanye signed up free agents like he had Steinbrenner money, scooping up Pusha T, Mos Def, Common, John Legend, KiD CuDi, CyHi Da Prynce and Big Sean. With the exception of “Devil In A New Dress,” which he did not produce, all of his G.O.O.D. Music Friday songs have been largely collaborative with his squad putting in the brunt of the work – Pusha T was only signed a little over a month ago, but dropped four verses.

I'm not trying to spread further Kanye hate. I love G.O.O.D. Music Friday to a point that I become anxious when he doesn't get the song out until Saturday morning. This observation is more about being the first to make the Bowie-comparison. Kanye West sampling Daft Punk at the height of rejuvenated popularity after the U.S. festival tour that caused mini-earthquakes across the country was not a coincidence, nor is J. Cole's verse on “Looking For Trouble”. Kanye knows, or his team of producers know, what's the trendiest shit to bite, even if it's the guy who outshined you on your own music.
