King Dude, “Born In Blood”

Post Author:

Reaching back through his long ago catalog, King Dude has taken on the task of pumping some life back into a few old tracks. Releasing a brand new 7″ through his self-formed label, Not Just Religious Music, King Dude will put out “Born In Blood” and “Spiders in Her Hair” to support an upcoming West Coast tour. “Born In Blood” is such a familiar sound from the early 50s nostalgist, whose tracks often levitate between the world of the living and the world of the dead. His obsession with gospel tropes and pseudo-Satanism are prevelant here, but not without TJ Cowgill's expressively smarmy sense of humor that comes through on his catty vocals and grimy lyrics.

The Born In Blood 7″ can be picked up at the King Dude tour dates below and is the first of seven in a series of 14 song reissues.
