Lauren Housley – My Sleeping Heart

Lauren Housley, The U.K Artist is riding the wave of British Country Music..

The Rotherham-born artist, was always a shy child. This was in stark contradiction of her unrivalled desire to perform. At a young age

Since making her name, she’s received critical acclaim from the likes of Q, The Telegraph, No Depression & the BBC Radio 2 Playlist. She’s also graced the stage with the likes of Van Morrison, Jack Savoretti, Vintage Trouble, JP Cooper and First Aid Kit. The new single takes inspiration from a recent trip to the songwriting mecca of Nashville. A chance encounter with a heartbroken man in a bar, provided the lyrical content for “My Sleeping Heart”, while the instrumentation leans on Blues, Soul and Rock n Roll.

“I understood where this man was coming from. He had been carrying the hurt from a past love for a long time and was finally making peace with it. As soon as I got back to the room, I picked up the guitar and started writing “My Sleeping Heart”.”

Performing live is a crucial element of Lauren’s appeal and so with the new single, comes a list of her biggest shows to date. Known on the scene as “the band with no ego”, Lauren shares the stage with  long term writing partner Thomas Dibb (Guitar, Vocals), co-producer Mark Lewis (Bass, Vocals), Xavier Winton (Drums) and Billy Bragg’s trusty sideman C.J. Hillman (Pedal Steel, Guitar).
