MRY, "Walking On Fire"

It’s rare that one would actually follow through on quitting a safe job and career path to pursue their artistic dreams, but that’s exactly what the Los Angeles-based MRY did. Sleeping on couches and basements and wandering the streets of Echo Park and Silver Lake during normal work hours, the multi-talented musician drew from these non-traditional experiences and found his way as a songwriter. Early morning drives up the Pacific Coast Highway after finishing his graveyard shift in Malibu gave way to inspirations that would come to yield his first offerings under the MRY moniker.
Collaborating with producer Mario Rodriguez of That’s Nice, MRY recently dropped his debut single, “Way We Go,” with Impose Magazine happy to host the exclusive premiere of his latest, “Walking On Fire,” today. The sparkling indie-pop gem layers shimmering guitars over buoyant rhythms as MRY crafts grooves evoking that feeling of driving up the coastline with the top down.
The artist shares:
“‘Walking On Fire’ is a song about looking up into space and dreaming back into a summer escape as you feel autumn closing in.”
