Oliver the 2nd & Jeremiah Jae, RawHyde

If Joey Bada$$ is trying to bring back the Golden Era of hip hop, Jeremiah Jae and Oliver the 2nd are trying to present a psychedelic alternative future with a new mixtape titled, RawHyde.

The name of tape refers to a mid 1960' s TV show about the Wild West. RawHyde certainly plays right along with its hazy and twisted beats from Wild West LA producer, Jeremiah Jae. While we don't know much about MC, Oliver The 2nd, his voice sounds perfect over the what Jae lays out. Jeremiah Jae is already signed to Brainfeeder, fitting right at home with the cohorts of Flying Lotus, Gaslamp Killer, The Underachievers, and friends. The mixtape, RawHyde, features a crazy intro from the actual show RawHide. It leads in to one of the best tracks off the tape, “Billy Kid”, which sounds like 1993 era Wu-Tang, while latter tracks sound similar to a Stones Throw extra.

Jeremiah Jae first caught our ears at Impose with his album, RawMoneyRaps, and his track Money. RawHyde is just as good maybe even better than his previous work and even has a bit more realness and rawness to it. Rawhyde is going to be released in a cassette and limited t-shirt form in partnership with Hit+Run, which you can pre-order here.
