Italian based electro-pop outfit SAMA has dropped an antidote to the January blues with their latest single ‘Warm Cloudy Weather’. The track is full of pop charm and blissful balearic guitars, and as the title suggests would be a pretty sweet accompaniment to a sunset evening. That said, it sounds pretty good in January too.
Teaming up with Grammy Award-winning producer Aamir Yaqub, famed for his is for his productions on Rihanna’s Unapologetic album (and engineering for David Guetta, Ne-Yo, Sia among others), it’s no surprise that what resulted was something more poppy than their previous work (fans of The Avener and Robin Schulz take note) perhaps this is a nod to the direction the 3 piece is heading?
SAMA’s previous two releases, their debut ‘A love Like Kerosene’ and follow up ‘What Love Is All About’ were championed by tastemakers such as Wonderland, Dancing Astronaut, Kick Kick Snare and Pop Matters, helping cement them as ones to watch in 2018. ‘What Love Is All About’ has also been shortlisted for B-Side Project, a remix contest in association with Sound On Sound magazine with a voting panel of top artists including Clean Bandit and Nu:Tone.
