Sara Savery, Brooklyn musician by way of Copenhagen, is releasing her debut record through Dead People's Choice, and if her first single is any indication, it's going to be a shiny standout that occasionally dabbles in darkness. “The Diver”, which features a stark image of Savery in a t-shirt that reads “ANTIHERO”, is more innocent than it lets on, utilizing honey-drenched tones and airy vocals to float over a dreampop surface. But there is a definitive depth and studied intellect to the music, making it not just your average ghostwavey track—Savery knows how to put our heads in the clouds while keeping our hearts heavy and tethered to the ground, sometimes even below the surface.
