Electro duo Soft Metals have a new record coming out in July called Lenses and “Tell Me” is the cold, affecting first preview of what the record will look like. If you're the guy who passes on every new post-punk or garage or psych band with a lo-fi harshed sound, this is exactly the foil you've been looking for. There is no sun in the ice-cold landscape that “Tell Me” creates, and the lightly pulsing energy is just as draining as it might be energizing. It's electro minimalism at its absolute iciest.
Lenses, Soft Metals' sophomore LP, comes out on July 16 through Captured Tracks.
