Though Lee Bannon has been working his wiles on everyone from Joey Bada$$ to Busta Rhymes, the man is by no means a hip hop traditionalist. With diverse and eclectic production of his own, and a couple mixes that prove his otherwordly scale, he is a producer who manages to shift our expectations a little to the left. On his mix for the reputed FACT Mag, Bannon continues to prove he has his ears to the ground, managing to blend off-kilter jungle beats with Andy Stott and Oneohtrix Point Never. A light, eccentric melancholy flows through his work, but it just goes to prove that he's not a producer of questionable bombast.
