Sunlotus is a heavy shoegaze trio from Blora, Indonesia who crank out huge, thunderous lo-fi riffs that shatter eardrums. This is evident on their stunning debut single “Picturesque,” a wondrous post-rock-influenced track that immediately hits stratospheric sonic levels right out of the gate.
Frontman Made Dharma is a masterful musician and producer, mixing the staticky guitar, bass and drum levels in ethereal, ambient ways. Dharma is a veteran of various regional groups such as Warmouth, Deadly Weapon and LKTDOV, and Sunlotus is a promising act to keep an eye on.
