Track Premiere: The Rock'n'Roll HiFives – "Hold On"

Post Author: Mike Mehalick

As Ron Burgundy once said, “And then our children will form a family band. And we will tour the countryside and you won’t be invited.” NJ-based rockers The Rock’n’Roll Hi-Fives are indeed a tight-knit family unit that has already toured plenty of the US and Japan, the difference being that you are very much invited.
Meet the Centeno’s (Joe, Gloree, Evren and Eilee) who together form one of the most fun, pure rock-n-roll bands going today. Their wild shows replete with confetti shooters and caped, Flying-V-led drum-kit leaps have earned them a cult following, making being a fan of The RocknRoll Hi-Fives as familial as, well, you get it.
Today, the band is announcing the forthcoming release of Re-Introducing The RocknRoll Hi-Fives, out June 29th via Little Dickman Records and Impose is proudly premiering single “Hold On.” The track is a hooky, riff-chugging ripper straight out of the best anthemic works 60s glam has to offer with The RocknRoll Hi-Fives’ unique flair and swagger shining throughout.
Eilee shares:
“When Dad gave me the music to what was to be ‘Hold On’ I was kinda in a rut with words and dad jokingly said I should start writing songs about relationships since that’s what all of the hits were about. I’ve never been in a relationship before and I usually write the lyrics to our songs on my own but for this song dad and I wrote the lyrics together so we had both angles being portrayed in the song. The song is groovy unlike some of our other songs which are fast paced. This song is about what people think they want in a relationship. The first line is ‘blonde hair red dress she got your drooling you’re such a mess,’ it represents the way people see others in magazines or on a screen and think they could really like this person just by sight, even if they don’t know who they really are inside. We went for a 70s glam rock sound on this song so people can groove and have fun, if they relate to the lyrics that’s even better!”
