Trudy and the Romance, “Sandman”

Post Author:

Claiming themselves as “mutant 50’s pop,” Liverpool’s musical collective Trudy and the Romance – comprised of Oliver Taylor (guitar, vocals), Lewis Rollinson (bass), and Brad Mullins (drums) – have been out on tour with The Big Moon, but have not let time on the road set them apart from making music. In fact, they’ve got a new single for us to enjoy fresh off the road, entitled “Sandman”.

Hard hitting from the very beginning, the “Sandman” sets in at an enthusiastic mid-tempo pace and does not let up. The vocals come in a big warbled – quirky and unique to the band itself – and bring with them a Gogol Bordello-esque feel to the track. Begging to “take me to the bedroom,” the song may boast a different topic than originally assumed from the title, making it more of an exploration of its meaning. It’s got such an undeniably catchy melody, and we’re enthralled.

Tour Dates
