Woods' new single “Find Them Empty”

A truly gnarly, detuned guitar tantrum transforms the otherwise classically pastoral Woods tune into a angsty, unsettled romp halfway between ballad and a busted nut — the tune never quite blows its load, containing the trebly riff ballast with intermittent moments of total peace and harmony.

“Find Them Empty” was recorded this past winter at Buttermilk Falls in Warwick, NY as a “companion piece” to their full length Sun and Shade, which they released about a week ago on Woodsist. Amusingly, the cover art for this single features Sacred Bones labelhead Caleb Braaten as a young boy, next to this father and a huge weed plant.
