Every now and again there are musicians that take the art form and run with it in every part of their life..
That’s certainly the case with London musician Zoe Konez. Apart from being an accomplished songwriter and producer, she also spends much of her time performing on hospital wards. She also runs a live music night “Stop, Look, Listen” in the capital. As if that wasn’t enough, she’s also one half of pop electronic duo CATBEAR, A powerhouse act that have support from the likes of Q Magazine, 6Music and Louder Than War.
Since ‘The Sweetest Thing is Love” at the tail end of last year, Zoe has built a solid reputation for herself. She’s now back with “We Got Lost,” and it’s a perfect example of just what she’s capable of. Dreamy guitar licks and emotive vocals are the order of the day with a stunning piece of work.
“I wrote the track in the first couple of days of January, in the quiet, reflective time before things started back for the year. I had changed the strings on my electric guitar and the opening chords were the first I played when I finished, and words fell out. I started recording it in my home studio as I was still writing it. Lyrically the track explores social media and how isolated and pressured we all felt around that, as well as the division and confusion around Brexit”
