tUnE-yArDs is the creative outlet of Merrill Garbus, who doesn't need a stage moniker with that birth name—or maybe does. Garbus toured endlessly last year in support of her record BiRd-BrAiNs. The album was comprised of 2.5 years of hand-held recordings, released on recycled cassette tape.

Garbus knew how to take inaccessibility to its maximum potential. Now, she's biting the bullet on artistic obscurity and allowing Marriage Records to release BiRd-BrAiNs on vinyl and digital download.
