Ah, New Years: tis' time to try and erase the inky black stains we inflicted on our souls in the previous 12 months with one night of empty promises, André, and oversold open bar ripoffs. Luckily, Daily Ghost, WEIRD MAGIC and Vibes Management are throwing a little shindig called Inverted Cosmos 2011 at a "VERY LARGE" warehouse in Bushwick.
A "$300,000 custom built, all-analog sound system" should help Ariel Pink, Outer Limits Recordings (featuring James Ferraro, Greatest Hits & Big Troubles), Autre Ne Veut, and Steve Summers sound pretty righteous. Plus, they somehow snagged The Holographer, Dr. Laser, who created visuals for Studio 54 and had Andy Warhol to sit for a holograph, to oversee the visual effects.
Beautiful Swimmers, Magick Mountain, DJ Rashad, Physical Therapy and Weird Magic will be spinning til' 7am. Despite the warehouse being "10,000 sq ft," we're told that it'll sell out.
So you could sit at Fistfuck McGillicuddy's Pub all night waiting for the chick in the 2011 glasses to stop vomiting enough to make out with you, only to head home to your shake weights and electronic cigarettes OR you can revel in the shit that made you (kind of) cool in 2010. 2011's totally gonna be better, we can FEEL IT.
