Dope Body announce new album, October tour

Post Author:

Baltimore-based punks Dope Body have just announced a full length follow-up to 2012’s Natural History. The new album’s called Lifer and it’s set for release on October 21 via the Drag City. With the announcement of the album comes its first single, “Hired Gun”. The track makes use of blisteringly loud guitar harmonics and an Andrew W.K.-esque party-hard-then-party-even-harder sentiment. It’s the sort of track that’ll give you a bloody nose even before it plays in the background as you jump into the kiddie pool from your childhood friend’s rooftop. In other words, “Hired Gun” is a woozy fun time, all the more augmented by the song’s trance-inducing mid-section.

Dope Body will also set out for a brief tour of the Northeast in October. Before that, they’re playing a free show on August 29 at Brooklyn Night Bazaar with Single Mothers, Ed Schrader’s Music Beat and Vulture Shit.
