Liam Betson's cult persona has been percolating since 2007. Since then, he's released music under the name of Liam the Younger, and toured extensively with Titus Andronicus, playing guitar. He split off from the band last summer in order to pour his energy into preparing his fourth full-length LP, The Cover of Hunter, set for release this summer.

Produced by Kevin McMahon (Titus Andronicus, Real Estate), the record will feature cameos from the likes of Ian Dykstra, Luka Usmiani, Ian Drennan, Alex Steinberg, Patrick Stickles and Julian Lynch. Betson cites Lou Reed, The Germs, as well as “inverted fairy tales” as influences. To announce the album, he's put out a short teaser video, and lyric “from beautiful to pure” is right. The video's entrancing 36 seconds are up before you've even had a chance to wrap your head around his disarming sound. Stay tuned for further updates.

The Cover of Hunter will be released July 22 on Double Double Whammy. Stream the album teaser below.
