San Francisco’s Maus Haus releases the single “No More Girls” off the upcoming 6-track EP, Light Noise, which lands in download queues on October 2.
The harmonizing, buzzing, and banging are a hot mess of noise. And when I say that, I mean that they sound how a cell diagram in Biology class looks. All the parts resemble a stink pile of garbage that then, for some reason, allows for plants, animals, and human beings to function properly and grow. What I am trying to say is – if I could crawl up inside a cell diagram and stay in it forever, I would want it to live in Maus Haus’. With just enough minimal drum patterns, bass buzzes, and dissonance, every clang and bang makes a cavernous space for listener to wander.
In addition Maus Haus released a peripheral single, “In Ultra-Violet” (not on the upcoming EP), which is a cover of a Cinema 90 song – the only Cinema 90 song ever produced. The track ended up on a compilation released in 1984 and Maus Haus decided to kill it with their own rendition. The end.
