Electronic maven Pantha Du Prince has been performing songs from The Triad, his first album in six years, all over the world – and he’s finally set to return to the states. This May, Pantha will hit Chicago, Miami, New York, LA, San Francisco, and more major cities playing songs from The Triad LP, and celebrating the impending release of two more projects which give the well-received work new life.
Pantha created The Triad Ambient Versions by stripping the thumping percussion and rabid synths that populate the original tracks. He aimed to give the listener “free space” with the project by removing the confines of percussion and traditional structure. “The straight columns of rhythm were taken away for a light wind of silence and non-structured fluid movements,” he has said.
Along with the ambient reconceptualization is an coming remix EP, complete with reinterpretation by Electronic soundscapists from all over the world such as Solomun, Berlin’s Recondite, Amsterdam-via-Nigeria house innovator Shinedoe, and more. Both projects will be available at all digital retailers on June 9th.. Limited physical copies of The Ambient Versions will be available.
