Pictureplane announces remix package and tour with Heems

Travis Egedy a.k.a Pictureplane has announced the release of a remix package for his song “Hyper Real/Total Confusion” on July 17 via the hyper-ambitious label IHC 1NFINITY. Why hyper ambitious? IHC has said that they’re basically going for the Marvel Cinematic Universe of releases. So all videos and music will exist within the same sphere and support each other in a meaningful way. (Legit, that has to be some of the coolest shit anyone’s tried in a while.)

Egedy is looking to “democratize” electronic music much in the way that hardcore punk did rock music in the 80’s. His compositions are eclectic, moody, and what he describes as “The feeling of knowing that you are feeling”; existing outside of any traditional electronic sub-genre. In short, the seamless blending of styles makes the New York City via Denver artist’s music something that must be experienced to be understood.

He’s bracing the release with a premiere of the Jerome LOL remix of the song, now streaming and available for download. The package is set to feature remixes from the likes of Dark0, Knife City (of Anamanguchi), and Rabit.

The release comes right on the heels of a west coast tour with Heems. Dates Below:

July
24 Oakland, CA at The New Parish
25 Santa Ana, CA at Constellation Room
26 San Diego, CA at Casbah
27 Los Angeles, CA at Echoplex
28 Phoenix, AZ at The Crescent Ballroom
29 Albuquerque, NM launchpad

Side note. Haven’t haven’t heard the original? Peep. And, if you’re interested in seeing one of the strangest things you’ve seen in a while have a look at the video for the song here.
